Kemp Smith Partner John served as a panelist at the Broadband Communities 2016 Summit on April 6, 2016 in Austin, Texas. Mr. Padalino served on two panels. The first panel was on the topic of "How Funding Broadband Can Help Revive Rural Areas, Part 1 - The Connect America Fund", which examined the recent changes in the Connect American Fund, and how rural regions can take greater advantage of the program.
The second panel he served on was on the topic of "Town Hall Meeting on the Broadband Opportunity Council Report - What does it mean for Rural America?" which focused on how in its more than 15 year history, the Rural Telecommunications Congress has served to drive high-quality broadband to rural parts of America. Attendees were able to take part in an interactive discussion about ways to strengthen the pillars of a strong broadband ecosystem, including: (1) Statewide broadband planning; (2) Next-generation infrastructure investments; and (3) Educating individuals and organizations on how easy it is to effectively use broadband.
